A gift for . I just loved her character, Vuluminum's, character and role as caretaker to Ratchet and just had to draw her.

This scene follows the scenario of Alister's condition in my 27 Strong comic under different circumstances. After his fight with Tachyon knocked him out cold and left him bleeding from his stomach, he woke up to the sound of a baby crying. He crawls to a launch probe and finds baby Ratchet inside (an alternate reality scenario where Ratchet's pod going to Veldin failed to launch). The Zoni carry them to their destination and leave them in front of a hospital in the village where Ratchet resided in prior to the Ratchet and Clank games. However, their medical equipment is less than adequate to treat a war veteran's injuries. All the nurses can do is keep him on life support. Despite their urges to take him off life support to show him mercy, Alister refuses because he feels he needs someone like Ratchet to be there for him because it's what his father, Kaden, would've wanted. In the meanwhile, Vuluminum watches over Ratchet at the orphanage where she works and takes him to see Alister when his classes end. Ratchet is the sweetest little bundle of joy; as he gets older, he starts calling Alister "papa" .
